Valentine's Day isn't that bad

I promised myself when I started blogging about marriage that I would never blog about Valentine’s Day which may be why it has taken me so long to write this week (or that wonderful LA 401 outline that was due). I think the intention to not focus on the day is what actually had me thinking about what needed to be said so much. For those of you that aren’t real mushy mushy fans don’t give up on me yet – there is a little meaning here. Valentine’s Day changes when you get married. Whether you are married or not there is always going to be that single person that takes the entire day off work to thwart any plans people in a relationship might have made – this was still the case this year. Friday was kind of a big deal for me. Friday, January 29, 2010 I turned 21. It seems like there are tons of great things that come with this birthday. I can rent a car, gamble and drink alcohol. I noticed that as it got closer and closer to my birthday I would hear more and more about how this big birthday year isn’t all that it has been cracked up to be. For those of you that have yet to turn…their wrong.
