Espress excitementUnder the new ownership, Espress Yourself, located at 713 High St., has been making strides toward better involving the Baker University community. In fact, the owners even named the drink of the month after a BU student, senior Allison Scahill.
Phi Mu funGood job to the women of Phi Mu sorority for a successful philanthropy event. The house raised over $100 for the Children’s Miracle Network during the house’s annual President for a Day campaign. Nice job, ladies.
Sad studentsA favorite pastime for Baker University students is now illegal. Any alcohol consumption by anyone at the Douglas County Lake is now considered a finable offense. This coupled with the fact there is no water in the lake means sad times for students.
Relay reactionAfter years upon years of being in April or May, the annual Relay for Life in Baldwin?City has been moved to June. This is unfortunate, as students are not going to be around to help participate in the event and enjoy the tradition.
Dumb driversSeveral roads in Baldwin are one-way, which some students and community members don’t seem to realize. Drivers continuously head the wrong way on these roads. People must be aware of what they are doing when they are driving.
