Not all members attended, but Baker University Student Senate met quorum on Halloween night and discussed many issues.
President Ryan Boyer said the executive secretary position for student senate would be available to applicants next semester.
“We as an exec had a resignation,” Boyer said. “We decided that we will fill this position next semester.”
Vice President Ashley Locklin said yearbook is working on taking every student’s picture who did not have it taken at the beginning of the semester.
“We are trying to get them done as soon as possible and so we’re thinking about coming to all the greek houses,” Locklin said.
Wes Mikel said yearbook members aren’t planning on going to individual residence halls and apartments, but will know by December if they must.
“We had a better turnout for Independents than we did for greeks,” Mikel said.
Boyer said there would be a chili feed benefit for Sherrie Wood, communication department assistant, Nov. 15 at the Baldwin City Intermediate Center.
“I am encouraging all the greek houses to give your cooks a night off and take all your members over there,” Boyer said.
John Frazier, associate vice president and dean of student development, said Mark Zeno, associate dean of students, resigned and will be leaving Baker at the end of the semester.
“I’m not sure if we’ll come up with someone within, which there’s a possibility of, or we may open up an external process,” Frazier said. “(Zeno has) been here for a year and a half and done a very good job.”
Frazier said students staying on campus over Thanksgiving break need to fill out a form available from student development.
“For liability reasons we need to know who’s here,” Frazier said.
Frazier said greek members eligible to move into greek houses at semester need to be thinking about preparing for that or be informed if they are eligible.
“It’s 32 hours or sophomore standing, but we’ve always worked with them if they have 30 hours or above,” Frazier said. “Especially if they have 30 hours and at least a 3.0 GPA.”
