No doubt there will be much questioning this week of what could have possibly led to Stephen Kazmierczak’s shooting down multiple young lives on an Illinois college campus that so closely resembles Baker.
It pains me to point out that the seven students so cruelly dispatched are just the latest in America’s growing campus gun-crime death toll.
To an onlooker from across the Atlantic, it seems simply inexplicable such tragedies do not lead directly to greater restrictions on gun ownership.
College shootings are thankfully a rarity in Europe. Despite the NRA’s protests, a large part of the blame clearly lies with America’s culture of firearms ownership and their easy accessibility across the land.
Do yourselves a favor, and call for stricter gun laws.
