Mungano elects newest officers

Mungano officers have been elected for the 2007-2008 academic year and are ready to step into their new leadership roles.

Newly-elected president Nicole Baumgartner said she would like to see unity on Baker University's campus, while promoting diversity and continuing the traditions and activities the organization has already established.

"My goals for next year are best described by Rasheed-Ali Cromwell from the Big XII Conference, which is 'to educate, evaluate, and empower.' I feel that Mungano, as the multicultural organization on campus, has an obligation to educate this campus about all aspects of diversity, and in doing so, this campus will be empowered," she said.

Vice President Kendra Scarbrough said she looks forward to events next year, like the soul food dinner.

"I would also like to add other events since we try to celebrate a different heritage each month," she said.
