Members of the Baker University Faculty Senate met Tuesday and approved the December graduates and passed other motions, including a residency requirement for students.
Ryan Beasley, assistant professor of political science, presented a motion about removing the section titled “post-tenure review” from the faculty handbook. The motion passed after a secret ballot and will go into effect for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Bruce Anderson, associate professor of political science, presented a motion from the EPC committee – composed of four parts – that deals with program changes in the language and literature department, the psychology department, the biology/health, sport and human performance department and the business department. The motion will not be voted on until February.
The final announcement of the meeting was from the general education committee about waiting until January to meet about the new general education plan.
“There’s just too many other things going on,” Professor of Psychology Rob Flaherty said. “The committee is just kind of coasting ’til after the 15th of this month.”
