This school year will not only be celebrated by the annual university convocation, but also by a 24-hour prayer vigil immediately preceding the opening ceremonies.
The vigil will begin at 10:45 a.m. Monday and end at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, 15 minutes before convocation is set to begin.
University Minister Ira DeSpain said the vigil is tied to convocation because this year’s theme is sustainability.
DeSpain said anyone participating in the vigil is invited to pray at the chapel between 6 a.m. and midnight on Tuesday.
"What has truly sustained us all these years is our never-ending faith in God," DeSpain said.<br/>&#160;
