The Baker men’s and women’s tennis teams battled it out Tuesday when they hosted William Jewell College.
The men’s team lost to the Cardinals 7-2. The only wins came from sophomore Casey Gleue in a singles match 7-5 and 6-2, and doubles team junior Steve Donly and sophomore Drew Richter, who won 9-8.
The women’s team also lost to William Jewell. Junior Molly Flanigan was the only winner with a score of 6-0, 6-3.
“We played to the best of our abilities,” senior Taylor Bonar said. “We’ve had a few injuries that set us back, but we’ve had people step up.”
The Baker tennis teams will be back on the tennis court, this time against McKendree University in St. Louis, Mo., Saturday and again Sunday in St. Charles, Mo. against Lindenwood University.
