Alpha Chi Omega sorority and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity are holding the ninth-annual Spiking Out volleyball tournament Saturday.
"This is a great opportunity to raise money for the houses' philanthropies," sophomore Leah Doromal said. "Also, it's good for bonding between the greek houses."
Doromal said while only eight teams competed last year, 14 teams were enrolled to participate in the tournament as of Monday. Enrollment for teams ended Wednesday. Each team consists of seven players and each team was charged a $50 entrance fee.
"I'm excited about how many teams we have signed up," Doromal said. "Anybody can participate or just come hang out."
The tournament will begin at 10 a.m. at the sand volleyball courts at the Sigma Phi Epsilon and Delta Tau Delta fraternity houses. Raffles and food will be available.
