Students, faculty and Baldwin City community members alike are beginning the second year of the Community Choir, led by Matthew Potterton, director of choral activities.
Potterton began teaching at Baker University in the fall of 2009, which was when he came up with the idea for the choir. He pitched the idea to both students and community members and received good feedback, so he decided to form the choral group.
About 65 members in the public choir performed for the first time last spring.
“I’d love to get even more people,” Potterton said. “It’s a great opportunity for anyone to sing.”
Potterton is expecting about 80 to 85 members to be in the Community Choir this year.
