The Baker men’s tennis team competed against Friends University Saturday in Wichita.
The men played well and came away with the win in the Riverside Tennis Center with a final score of 5-4.
All three Baker doubles teams were able to win, with junior Stephen Donly and sophomore Drew Richter defeating their opponents 8-4 in their doubles match.
“It’s always fun to play Friends (University),” Donly said. “Last year we won 9-0; so they have improved a lot.”
Baker won two points from senior Keith Pipkin and junior Jared Kurtz in singles matches. <br/>With one match left to go, the score was tied 4-4. “Jared Kurtz won the fifth point for us on his third set,” Donly said.
The ‘Cats will face Cowley County Community College Saturday in Baldwin City.
