Volunteer Coordinator Nancy Richard is taking time away from advising the parMentors program, which helps administration by hosting guests at Baker University, and is spending some time recuperating after an operation.
Richard recently began rehabilitation after having open-heart surgery over the summer and has not been at Baker University since the school year started.
Susanne Teel, former chair to the Baker University Board of Trustees and one of the judges who selected the new parMentors, is now taking on the responsibility of advising the group while Richard is away.
“(Teel) is fond of the group,” Richard said.
Teel will continue to advise the parMentors until Richard returns, although at this time, Richard is unsure of when she will come back.
“I’m sad I’m missing out on the fun, but I will be back,” Richard said.
