Members of the freshman class voted for class officers Monday and Tuesday in Harter Union, and the winners were announced Tuesday at the Baker University Student Senate meeting.
Josh Hanson was named the freshman class president, while Nancy Delgado was named vice president. Other freshman class officers elected included secretary/treasurer Katie Thurbon and class representatives Parker Johnson and Tim Laughlin. About 50 percent of the freshman class voted in the election.
Hanson defeated Chris Coover, Tyler Eison and Maggie Thyr for the position of president. Also running for office was Drew Harbinson and Amanda Meyer for vice president, Ariella Harrison for secretary and Callie Paquette for class representative.
“I was a part of student council in high school,” Laughlin said. “It’s a good way to get to know people and I like to be involved, so that’s kind of why I did it.”
