Taking an adventure and learning will be possible for Baker University students who choose to take a travel Interterm in January 2012.
The trips approved by the Baker University Faculty Senate include a trip to London and Paris, with focuses on science and art, one to Argentina, one to Mexico and another to an undetermined location for scuba diving.
Faculty senate will decide if another trip, “Social Justice and Service in Haiti,” will also be available to students.
Assistant Professor of History Leonard Ortiz is looking forward to taking students to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
“I want them to experience the Mexican culture … it’s pretty diverse,” Ortiz said. “I think we have assumptions about Mexico or the people, but once they get the opportunity to visit and interact with them, I think they’ll be able to understand them in a different way.”
