From a fourth generation Baker student to a Baldwin City resident, the 32 committed players from Baker’s 2011 football recruiting class have a variety of ties to the university.
“We are so happy with this class,” head coach Mike Grossner said.
Offensive lineman Jesse Austin, a 2011 Kansas Shrine Bowl selection and Baldwin City native, signed a letter of intent Nov. 30.
Spencer Polen, an offensive lineman from Carrollton Mo., has committed to Baker and will be a fourth generation Baker student.
Tight ends TJ Holtrop, from Phoenix, Ariz., and Taylor Stuart, a transfer from Coffeyville Community College, have also signed.
“We felt like we had to go find some tight ends,” Grossner said. “We got Stuart at semester, and Holtrop is going to be good in the future.”
Grossner is looking to sign a few more players before the 2011 season.
