March 5 could be a big night for 4-year-old Grady and his parents.
That’s because Grady, a patient of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and his family will be attending the third-annual Up ’til Dawn fundraiser at Baker. It will be the first time a patient’s family has attended the event.
Senior Katie Sellers hopes the family’s attendance will lead to the largest turnout yet.
“We realize that St. Jude is such a great place and it’s so expensive to operate, so even though our contribution is not very big, it’s still helping someone,” Sellers said.
During Up ’til Dawn, teams of five write letters requesting donations on behalf of St. Jude, and the teams can then attend a finale celebration. Twenty teams participated last year and raised around $20,000. Twenty nine teams are signed up for this year’s fundraiser.
