The Baker University softball team competed Friday and Saturday in Forth Worth, Texas at the Cowtown Senior Classic.
On Friday, the team went 1-2 in the tournament, with freshman Maggie Holmberg pitching a shutout versus Texas Wesleyan University in one of the games.
The Wildcats went 1-2 Saturday against Oklahoma Baptist University and Graceland University, with junior Brittany Vollenweider and sophomore Heather Gruber hitting home runs for Baker in a win against Graceland.
Head softball coach Matt Windle is excited for the team’s potential.
“We were in the games ’til late (which) we were capable of winning if we would have hit the ball better,” Windle said.
The Wildcats will play next at the CBC Meltdown March 4-5 in Conway, Ark.
