Digital photography assignment 1: limited color palette

Under the guidance of instructor Jennifer Jarnot, the Baker University Digital Photography classes are contributing samples of their work to thebakerorange.com.

Wait for this entire page to load to your browser, then click on the first image in the image gallery. You can advance through the remainder of the images by scrolling to the upper right corner of an image and clicking on the "Next" button on the right. Once you have started advancing through the students' work, a previous button will appear when you move your mouse over the upper left portion of an image.

Assignment #1 -- Explore making photographs with a limited color palette

Assignment instructions: Take at least ten photos for this assignment that demonstrate a monochromatic color scheme. For the purpose of this assignment, I want to see a specific hue (not a black and white photo).??1. Make sure the image is in focus, without camera shake. ?2. Think about composition. Where is the focus? Is there background clutter that is distracting? Think about the environment as well as the subject itself. ?3. Set the photos up in an interesting composition.  Create a grid??Objectives:?Demonstrating an understanding of monochromatic color schemes.?Demonstrating an understanding of technical skill and composition.
