The Baker University bowling team has only been existence for two years, but already, it is writing the record books.
The bowling team qualified for the USBC Team Sectional Championships after placing 26th at the Hoosier Classic. The team headed to Euless, Texas Friday for the sectional championships.
“Our last tournament was really successful,” freshman Brittany Barker said. “We all bowled higher than our averages. And I know that our confidence level is up.”
Three bowlers, sophomore Caitlin Campbell and freshmen Emily Buhler and Barker, will bowl individually, and Saturday Baker will compete against 13 other teams, where it is hoping for a top-four finish.
“We’re all just really excited going into this weekend,” Barker said. “Let alone excited about going to Texas, where the warm weather is.”
