Baker University’s indoor track team sent eight athletes to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships March 3-5 in Geneva, Ohio, and had two reach Saturday’s final round of competition.
Junior Jeremiah Korn placed third in shotput with a season-best throw of 16.33 meters.
“If you do what you’re capable of doing at the national meet, and repeat your performance, that’s pretty stellar,” head coach Zach Kindler said.
Sophomore Jeremy Gathright placed 11th in the men’s triple jump with a 14.58-meter jump.
Senior Aaron Hannon, a returning All-American, was injured during the long jump and had to drop out of the heptahlon.
The Baker track teams will start the outdoor season with the Baker Relays at 10 a.m. March 26 at Liston Stadium.
