The wrestling season is over for the year, but the Baker University wrestling program is gaining new recruits for next season.
One of the newest signed recruits to take the mat for Baker next year is Justin Hughes from Duncan, Okla.
While he began wrestling four years ago, throughout his high school career, Hughes has managed to place at state three times and was a 5A State Champion his senior year.
Head wrestling coach Jimmy May said Hughes is very creative on the mat and has a unique style of wrestling that should be able to help the team.
“We feel like he’s going to be a great addition to our young program,” May said. “I think he’s going to be a really good wrestler here if he can adjust to college life and adjust to college wrestling.”
