Gary Walbridge has retired after eight years of service to Baker University as the director of the physical plant.
“When he made the decision to retire, we were very happy for Gary to have this opportunity for the future,” Chief Operating Officer Susan Lindahl said.
Walbridge has been part of several changes to many buildings on campus during his time here.
Despite his retirement, all current construction projects on campus remain on task.
“Gary has all the maintenance plans in place, and we are confident that the staff will keep all the projects on target,” Lindahl said.
Lindahl said the university is not currently looking for a replacement.
Darla Prather, director of university budget and facilities, is temporarily stepping in for Walbridge.
“We have not yet made a decision or announcement on who will provide leadership for the department,” Lindahl said. “They’re definitely big shoes to fill.”
