With finals fast approaching, Baker University faculty will take a moment to recognize students for their achievements throughout the past year.
From 1 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, family and friends of students, along with their faculty and peers, from a multitude of the disciplines on Baker’s campus can attend the third annual Honors Symposium in Mabee Gym.
University President Pat Long will speak briefly, and those selected will present their work and accomplishments in classrooms throughout Mabee. Some students will be recognized for their academic achievements as well.
Erin Joyce, assistant dean for liberal studies, is looking forward to the event, which will be open to all.
“We like to try to get students from every field that’s out there,” Joyce said. “I think it’s really exciting to get to see the students and their work.”
Last year’s event saw more people than seats at times, with over 300 attendees, and Joyce said extra chairs will be set out just in case.
