Sophomore Warren Swenson addressed members of the Baker University Student Senate Tuesday for the last time as the senate president.
“This is bittersweet for me, but I think we’ve laid a strong foundation this year, and I’m happy to have been a part of that,” he said. “I’m going to leave feeling successful in that way. I think it’s a foundation that can be built on.”
As Swenson struck his gavel for the last time, incoming president, sophomore Caleb Watts, and the other members of the incoming executive board took their seats at the front of Mabee 400.
“I think this is a strong (executive) board,” Watts said. “I think we have a great platform to start off from. And we’re really excited about next year and making some improvements.”
While a number of senators were not at the meeting, changes to the senate constitution, regarding the makeup of committees within student senate, were passed and will be implemented next fall when students return to campus.
