As the only member of Baker University’s Rho Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, senior Robert Woodall has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders.
Woodall decided not to register Kappa Alpha Psi as a student organization at Baker this year.
“One of the reasons I didn’t register was because I wouldn’t be able to do any of the campus activities because I’m the only member,” Woodall said.
Director of Student Life Brett Bruner said since the fraternity is not registered, the chapter would not be eligible to request funding from Baker University Student Senate or be eligible to vote at senate meetings. The fraternity also won’t be allowed to participate in greek week activities.
The Rho chapter originated at Washburn University in 1921 and Baker was added in 2009.
“If someone at Baker was interested in joining, I would just take care of their paperwork for nationals,” Woodall said.
