The Baker University men’s basketball team clinched the No. 3 seed in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament with a 90-75 win against Central Methodist University Saturday.
Junior Corey Anderson led the Wildcats with 23 points on nine of 18 shooting from the field. Juniors Ben Steinlage and Todd Johnston and senior Jack Shortell joined Anderson in double figures to help BU reach the 90-point plateau for the third time this season.
Melvin Tillman was the top scorer for the Eagles with 33 points, but Alex Barner was the only other CMU player to score more than six points.
Baker will square off against Benedictine College at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Collins Center in the first round of the conference tournament.
The teams split the season series, with the Wildcats winning 54-43 at home and the Ravens pulling out a 68-62 overtime win Thursday in Atchison.
The Wildcats finished the regular season 19-10 overall and 12-6 in the HAAC.
