The sixth annual Gospel Extravaganza sponsored by the Baker University Mungano is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. today in Clarice L. Osborne Memorial Chapel. The event will include performances in poetry, music, praise and worship and is free to everyone.
“Mungano members have been hosting this event since 2006 to provide a platform for Baker students and local choirs to perform songs of praise and worship,” Silas Dulan, director of multicultural affairs and Mungano adviser, said.
Performances will include freshmen Diamond Griffith and Tyler Sloan, senior Margo Rodewald and juniors JaNay Adgers and Katerra Shackelford, along with a featured performance from the Baker University Speech Choir. The Kansas State University’s United Black Voices Gospel Choir will also be featured at the event.
Like past events that have been popular across campus, this year’s event is expected to be every bit as successful and more. The Mungano executive board has put together what Dulan thinks will be one of the best Gospel Extravaganzas yet.
“This year promises to be nothing less than stellar. We are blessed to host a number of highly gifted performers this year,” Dulan said.
