The No. 15 Baker University wrestling team hosted its Senior Night on Tuesday against the Pratt Community College Beavers in the Collins Center. The Wildcats won 33-13 and maintain a strong grip of the No.15 ranking.

Baker won seven of the nine matches against Pratt. The Wildcats won two by forfeit in the 133 and 141 pound weight classes, and the Beavers won one of their two by forfeit at 285 pounds. Of the six matches actually wrestled, Baker won five.

The Wildcats had three pins on the evening. At 165 pounds junior Connor Middleton defeated Pratt’s Syed Rafay Ali in 6:30. At 157 pounds sophomore Josh Thomas won in 3:20 against Austin Hughey. At 197 pounds freshman Billy Leone earned the fastest pin of the night in just 34 seconds over Matt Kissinger.

The other two winners for Baker had to endure the entire length of their matches. At 174 pounds junior Trevor Sutton won 1-0 over Travis Quarterman and at 149 pounds junior Dylan Arnall defeated Daniel Melcher 9-1.

Baker will be back inside the Collins Center this Sunday when the Wildcats host the Baker Cup. The event will start at 9 a.m.
