BU choir travels to California

Baker University will be sending 12 students to California for a choir tour May 27 through June 7.

“I am really looking forward to spreading the word about Baker,” Matthew Potterton, director of choral activities, said. “It’s a chance to let people know we have an excellent school right here in the Midwest.”

The group will perform at a variety of venues along the California coast.

“Performing at the cathedral in Oakland (Calif.,) will be an awesome experience,” Potterton said.

The group will also visit cultural events, from a dance performance to Disneyland.
Potterton hopes to develop a national tour that will take place every year, and an international tour to take place every three years. He also hopes the number of people who are able to go will increase in the future.
