Five BU teams to host games on Saturday

Baker athletics will host five different sporting events on Saturday, including three NAIA playoff games at Liston Stadium. This is the busiest sports weekend for Baker since Athletic Director Theresa Yetmar took over in 2009.

The men’s basketball team opened up its 2015-16 season with two wins, one on the road at Ottawa 82-74 and the other at home 70-69 against Kansas Wesleyan.

2015-16 men's basketball preview

The men’s basketball team will start the 2015-16 season at Ottawa University on Oct. 31. The team finished 9-20 last season and 3-15 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, falling in the first round of the conference tournament.

Men's basketball season ends at Avila

The men’s basketball team ended its season March 3 with a 71-53 loss to the Avila Eagles in the play-in round of the HAAC tournament. The Wildcats, who finished at 9-19 overall and 3-15 in the conference, fell in the opening round of the HAAC tournament for the third consecutive season.

Men fall in home finale

The men’s basketball team finished its regular season with two straight losses. Baker lost to Peru State 82-70 on Feb. 26 and also suffered a 71-56 defeat at the hands of the Missouri Valley Vikings on senior night Feb. 28.

The men's basketball team lost to both Evangel University and Avila University, which drops the team to 9-17 on the season and 3-13 in the HAAC.

Men's team wins big on Valentine's Day

The Wildcats split Valentine’s Day weekend with a 53-49 loss to the No. 11 Benedictine College Ravens on Feb. 12 then an 85-71 win against the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats on Feb. 14. The Wildcats now sit in ninth place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference at 9-15 overall and 3-11 in conference play.

Men break nine-game losing streak

The Baker men's basketball team snapped a nine-game losing streak with an 83-69 win over Graceland on Saturday to give the ‘Cats an 8-14 record on the season and 2-10 in the HAAC.

The men’s basketball team had a rough week of play, losing to the MidAmerica Nazarene University Pioneers and the Central Methodist University Eagles. These two losses make nine-straight for the Wildcats.
