Men's soccer falls in opening round

The magical run for the Baker Wildcats men’s soccer team came to an end Nov. 22 with a 4-1 loss at the University of Rio Grande in the first round of the NAIA national tournament. The top-seeded Red Storm dominated the Heart of America Athletic Conference champions as its attack and defense proved to be too strong for Baker.

BU wins HAAC tournament, advances to nationals

The sixth-seeded men’s soccer team defeated fourth-seeded Culver-Stockton College 3-1 Nov. 15 in Canton, Missouri, to claim its second consecutive Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament championship. The win gives the Wildcats an automatic bid into the national tournament.

The sixth-seeded men’s soccer team came out victorious in the semifinal round of the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament with a 2-1 win over the third-seeded MidAmerica Nazarene University Pioneers on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Olathe.

The Baker University men’s soccer team defeated Graceland 2-1 in the HAAC Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 8, in Lamoni, Iowa. This win sends the ‘Cats to face their rival in Olathe, the Mid-America Nazarene Pioneers, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday for semifinals.

The men’s soccer team defeated Central Methodist University 4-1 Nov. 1 at Liston Stadium. Its record improves to 6-8-3 and 2-3-2 in the conference.

Men's soccer draws in overtime

The men’s soccer team was 29 seconds from losing back-to-back games until freshman Alec Feist scored the equalizer to force overtime Oct. 24 at Avila. After 20 minutes of extra time, the game resulted in a 1-1 draw.

Soccer teams take on conference rival

The Baker University women’s soccer team defeated the Mid-America Nazarene University Pioneers 1-0 on Tuesday at Liston Stadium. This victory puts the Wildcats at 8-5 on the year and 1-2 in the HAAC. Following the women's victory, the men's team fought in a 110 minute overtime game that resulted in a 1-1 draw.
