Softball team splits home doubleheader with Bethany

The softball team split its doubleheader against the Bethany Swedes on Tuesday in Baldwin City. Back-to-back Heart of America Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week Olivia Brees’ pitching put the Wildcats on top with a 3-2 victory in game one, but the Swedes rallied during the second game and beat the Wildcats 19-10.

Softball season ends at HAAC tourney

The Baker softball team ended its season at the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament May 2, losing 12-3 to No. 8 Central Methodist at Blue Valley Recreation Complex in Overland Park.

Softball prepares for conference tournament

Finishing 12-31 overall in the regular season and 7-11 in conference play, the softball team was busy at work in the past two weeks, splitting a doubleheader against Missouri Valley College April 21 and then getting swept by Kansas Wesleyan April 25. The Wildcats then made up a postponed doubleheader on April 27 at Graceland University and lost both games.

Softball splits with Avila

Hosting Avila on April 14 at Cavaness Field, the Baker Wildcats dropped the first game 2-0 to the Eagles but redeemed themselves in game two with a walk-off 3-2 victory in the 10th inning.

Softball starts 5-5 in HAAC

The Baker softball team is now 5-5 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference after splitting a series with the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers on April 4 and being swept at home by Evangel on April 7. The previous week, the Wildcats swept Peru State and were swept by Benedictine.

Softball loses six games in Dallas

The Wildcats took to the road over the weekend, traveling to Mansfield, Texas, for the Lubbock Christian Tournament. This weekend proved to be a task for the Wildcats as they played six games in two days and finished with an 0-6 record. The Wildcats are now 1-9 on the season.
