Basketball teams sweep Avila

The women's and men's basketball teams both defeated Avila Monday in the Collins Center. The women won 73-52, while the men won 87-60.

No. 13 women fall in Heart semifinal rematch

After winning their Heart of America Athletic Conference opener at Clarke, the No. 13 Baker women dropped their first game of the season at No. 15 Central Methodist. The Wildcats lost 69-66 and fell to 3-1 overall.

The Baker women lost to MidAmerica Nazarene 49-35 in the NAIA National Championship game on Tuesday night in Independence, Missouri. The Wildcats finish their best season in program history at 28-9, and the seniors finish with 94 wins in their four years.

The Baker University women are into Tuesday night's NAIA national championship game after beating conference rival Benedictine 50-34 in the Fab Four. Senior Ericka Simpson’s career-high 24 points pushed the Wildcats to a dominating win Monday night at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, Missouri.

The No. 22 Baker women beat the No. 13 Lewis-Clark State Warriors 71-52 in the NAIA quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon in Independence, Missouri, and clinched a trip to the Fab Four for the first time in school history. The Wildcats will take on their conference rival Benedictine at 6 p.m. on Monday night.
