Five Baker wrestlers competed at the 58th Annual NAIA Wrestling National Championships inside the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka. Three of the five wrestlers walked away with NAIA All-American honors.

Shoemaker, wrestlers prepare for nationals

Baker is sending five wrestlers to nationals in Topeka on March 6-7. This marks the second consecutive year Baker has had five wrestlers qualify for nationals after the NAIA Central National Qualifier.

Jimmy May to be inducted into NIAA Hall of Fame

Former Baker wrestling head coach Jimmy May will be inducted into the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association High School Hall of Fame on Feb. 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada. May will enter the Hall of Fame with Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Greg Maddux.

Wrestling dominates Pratt CC Dual

The No. 15 wrestling team hosted its Senior Night on Tuesday against the Pratt Community College Beavers in the Collins Center. The Wildcats won 33-13 and maintain a strong grip of the No.15 ranking.

The Baker wrestling squad proved itself three times in one week. After beginning the season ranked number 16 nationally, the team fell against big name programs, such as the University of Oklahoma, but is now pinning down both individual and team wins.

Wrestlers open new season

Baker wrestlers had a busy schedule to start their season. Ranked No. 16 nationally in the NAIA, the team experienced difficult matchups in a quad hosted by the University of Oklahoma followed by a dual win over Bacone University and then the Dan Harris Open.
