The Kansas midterm elections were held on Nov. 6. In addition to electing public officials, there were also two amendments on the ballot.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8 the midterm election was held. Voters of all ages showed up to have their voice heard, whether in-person or through a mail-in ballot. The results for Kan. are as follows:

Ballot Measure #1

Description: If passed, this amendment would allow state legislature to overrule or suspend rules passed by the executive branch with just a simple majority vote. 

Results: Rejected

Ballot Measure #2

Description: If passed, it would require election of county sheriffs and could only be removed from office by a recall election.

Results: Passed

Kan. Supreme Court Retention Votes

Six of the seven justices were up for retention this election season. All six judges – Biles, Luckert, Stegall, Wilson, Wall and Standridgewere voted to be retained.
