Baker women's soccer team defeats Emporia State in preseason match

The women’s soccer team won its preseason game Friday against NCAA Division II foe Emporia State University at Liston Stadium, 2-0.

The Wildcats dominated possession of play, and forwards Alix Schiraldi, a sophomore, and Christine Janssens, a junior, each scored in the match.

“I think we came out really strong and proved we were a much more physical team than they were,” junior Haley Oborny said.

“I think (beating a Division II team) brings up our confidence and helps us know that we can be a really good team this year.”
