The women’s soccer team didn’t get the outcome it was hoping for, as it fell 3-1 to Lindenwood University Saturday in St. Charles, Mo.

It has been two years since the women’s team has pulled out a win against the Lions. Senior Mikayla Medlock said it was a difficult loss for the women, but their sights need to stay on the remaining games in the season.

“It was a disappointing loss but we don’t want to dwell on it,” Medlock said. “We just need to focus on the rest of our conference games.”

The Wildcats fell 2-0 in the first half, but junior Jen Sampson was able to knock in a goal before halftime, bringing the ’Cats only one step away from tying the game.

However, it was the team’s scoreless second half that gave Lindenwood a 3-1 lead and the victory.

The Lindenwood loss took the ’Cats to an 11-5 overall record and a 5-2 record in the HAAC.
With only two games left in the regular season, the women’s team moves on to challenge Culver-Stockton College at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Liston Stadium.
