The Baker University wrestling squad is heading to Sioux City, Iowa to battle in the Briar Cliff Open Saturday.

A dual against York College scheduled to take place Friday in York, Neb., was canceled.
The team finished its dual record with a perfect 4-0.

“It feels pretty good that we’ve beat some teams that have been around longer than we have,” freshman Alan Callahan, 125 pounds, said. “It’s given us confidence for next year.”

The Wildcats are coming off a third-place finish in the Kansas Cup Invitational at Kansas Newman University.

Freshman Jacob Nowak, 184 pounds, and senior Levi Calhoun, 285 pounds, both finished runner-up in their weight classes.

After Saturday’s competition, the Wildcats are heading into the NAIA Central Regional tournament Feb. 20 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
