Meagan Thomas is a junior from Colorado Springs, Colo. She is a mass media major with an emphasis in print journalism. This is her fifth semester as a Baker Orange staff member and she is currently serving as editor. She was the managing editor in the fall of 2011 and was the assistant news editor of the Orange in the spring of 2011. Meagan is also an employee for the The World Company as a writer for the Baldwin City Signal. During the 2011 interterm Meagan interned with the sports information director at New Mexico State University. Meagan is also a member of the Baker University Spirit Squad as a cheerleader. She enjoys reading, shopping, working out and cheering on her favorite sports team, the Colorado Rockies.

Phi Mu sponsors Pizza Palooza

Pizza Palooza is an annual all-you-can-eat pizza feed for students and community members to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. Normally the event took place at the former Phi Mu sorority house, but with the help of fraternity members, the women of Phi Mu continued the event at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house.

Soccer teams set for spring games

The Baker University men’s soccer team played its first spring season soccer games Saturday at North Park. The team tied with Kansas Wesleyan University 1-1 and lost to Cloud County Community College 4-2.

Senate reduces credit hours for Baker students

Baker University juniors, sophomores and freshmen are no longer required to take three interterms in order to graduate after the Baker University Faculty Senate voted to reduce the required graduation hours from 132 to 129 and three interterms to two.
