Coconut cream pie is sweet, yet filling. Reverend Ira Despain, Baker University minister, found this out at 11:45 a.m. Thursday outside of Osborne Memorial Chapel when he took a pie to the face. What started as a funny idea soon spiraled into a tradition to engage students, faculty and staff to contribute to the Baldwin City Food Pantry.

October marks the month for philanthropic awareness for two sororities on Baker University’s campus: Zeta Tau Alpha and Alpha Chi Omega. Both sororities took advantage of this awareness month to further educate and support breast cancer awareness as well as the awareness of domestic violence.
