It's time to get back to baking for the holidays! This time, I decided to be festive with these tasty treats. They look a little odd because of the color, but once people try them, they can't resist them. They're like rice krispie treats, but with cornflakes--and green!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Cornflakes cereal
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • green food coloring
  • Red Hot candies

Instructions

  • Melt the marshmallows, vanilla and butter in the microwave for 2 minutes.
  • Stir, then microwave for 2 more minutes.
  • Add (about 5 drops) of green food coloring.
  • Add the Cornflakes, and stir. Careful not to crush the Cornflakes!
  • Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper
  • Shape into wreaths (with holes in the middle). They don't have to be perfect!
  • Place 3 Red Hot candies on the wreaths to look like holly.

These are quick and easy to make, and don't require the use of the oven. For more recipes using Cornflakes (so that you can use up the rest of the box you bought to make this recipe), check out my blog in a couple of days.
