After a great weekend filled with fun fall activities, last night I decided I'd come home and bake. I'd been saving this recipe for a few weeks now, and decided now was the perfect time to try these Fall Harvest Bars.

Ingredients - 1/2 cup softened butter - 1 pkg yellow cake mix with pudding - 1 egg - 3 1/2 cups mini marshmallows - 1/2 cup light corn syrup - 1/4 cup sugar - 1/4 brown sugar - 1/2 cup peanut butter - 2 tsp vanilla - 2 cups Crispix cereal - 2 cups peanuts - 1 cup candy corn

Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 2. Combine egg, butter, and cake mix 3. Press cake mix "dough" into ungreased 15"x10"x1" pan 4. Bake 12-15 minutes 5. Remove from oven and sprinkle marshmallows on top 6. Bake 1-2 more min 7. While crust is baking, combine corn syrup, and sugars. Microwave until boiling, then add peanut butter and vanilla. 8. Gently stir in cereal, candy corn, and peanuts. 9. Spoon mixture over warm crust and marshmallows 10. Cool completely, cut into bars.

On step 8, I messed up. Rather than adding cereal into mixture, I just added candy corn and peanuts. I then realized, after I had spooned it on top of marshmallows, that I forgot the cereal. So, I pressed the Crispix on top. Either way, it looks and tastes good. I also added a few candy corns on top, as well as a few (I only had about 10, so I put them on a small section) M&Ms.

These treats are delicious, but they are a sticky, gooey, mess!
