One of my favorite things to do is bake. So, for my first ever blog, I decided I would write about something I love doing.
Another favorite I have? Blueberry muffins.
So, rather than buying a box of Betty Crocker blueberry muffins, stirring in the oil, eggs and water, I decided my first baking blog experiment would be blueberry muffins. The real, homemade, juicy blueberry muffins.
The ingredients I used are as follows:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
This recipe was super simple, quick and easy to make. I was a little nervous after mixing the ingredients, because it seemed like there were more blueberries than batter! I wish I would have taken a picture of the batter before I stuck them in the oven.
But, after 20 minutes, I opened the oven to find golden brown muffins with juicy blueberries peeking out the top. They looked delish!
So, of course, I had to eat one. They tasted just like they looked–delish. However, I must say that there’s still something about those Betty Crocker blueberry muffins that I love that these homemade blueberry muffins just didn’t quite have. They looked much prettier though, and so that’s got to count for something.
For my next blog entries, I’m going to try a new recipe every week. For this recipe, I used the “foodgawker” app on my iPhone, so I’ll pick a recipe I have never tried before and post my experience with baking it. If I love baking, other people might love reading about baking. They’d actually probably rather eat what I bake, but I’ll do the next best thing–post a picture of the final product. : )
